Casanis Bistrot, French-Belgian Mediterranean charm for old-town dinners with a well-travelled soul

Welcome to Casanis Bistrot, a Mediterranean restaurant with French and Belgian influences, located on Calle Ancha in the heart of Marbella Old Town. The restaurant has become one of the area’s most recognisable dining addresses, set among narrow streets, historic façades and the warm evening atmosphere that makes the old centre so special. Created from Guy Sirre’s travels in search of flavours, aromas and textures, Casanis has a character that feels personal, intimate and full of detail rather than overly formal.

All about Casanis Bistrot

Welcome to Casanis Bistrot, a Mediterranean restaurant with French and Belgian influences, located on Calle Ancha in the heart of Marbella Old Town. The restaurant has become one of the area’s most recognisable dining addresses, set among narrow streets, historic façades and the warm evening atmosphere that makes the old centre so special. Created from Guy Sirre’s travels in search of flavours, aromas and textures, Casanis has a character that feels personal, intimate and full of detail rather than overly formal.

The kitchen is led by chef Fabián Cangas and focuses on creative cuisine with a strong Mediterranean base. Guests can enjoy dinner across several different spaces, each with its own mood, including the main dining room, inner patio, terrace, wine cellar and private areas available on request. This makes Casanis suitable for romantic dinners, small groups and guests who want a more atmospheric Marbella restaurant away from the beachfront scene. With its combination of Old Town charm, international influences and carefully composed dishes, Casanis Bistrot offers a refined but warm dining experience in one of Marbella’s most characterful neighbourhoods.

A Winter Old Town Favourite for Meat, Wine and Atmosphere

For us at MarbsLifestyle.com, Casanis Bistrot is one of those cosy Marbella Old Town restaurants we genuinely love returning to.

Casanis Bistrot has exactly the kind of Old Town charm that makes dinner in Marbella feel special. Set on Calle Ancha among the narrow historic streets, it feels intimate, warm and full of character, with that relaxed but lively atmosphere where the tables around you are all enjoying the same easy evening rhythm. For our team, this is especially a restaurant to remember in winter, when sitting inside feels cosy, atmospheric and very Marbella in the best possible way.

The food is a major part of why we rate it so highly. Casanis brings together Mediterranean cooking with French and Belgian influences, and from our editor’s notes the meat dishes are the real must-order here. If you enjoy a proper bistro-style dinner, put the meat on your list, look out for the Capucho, and do not skip asking for the wine list, because the wine selection is part of the experience.

It is refined without feeling stiff, romantic without being overly formal, and established enough in the Old Town to feel like a true local dining address rather than a passing trend. For the 2026 season, Casanis Bistrot is absolutely one to keep on your Marbella list, especially for a winter dinner with excellent food, a beautiful setting and a glass of wine in hand.
